GROUNDED IN LIVED EXPERIENCE
With over 3 years of experience as a sole trader support worker, Jodie is deeply committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities, and their families. Her journey in this field is personal, grounded in her lived experience as a parent to her 23-year-old son, Matt.
JOURNEY TO ‘YOUR PURPOSE’
Before embarking on this path, Jodie worked as a Training and Development Officer for the Department of Education, and various other Government departments. To hone her skills in program management and community engagement, she worked as a Training and Coordinator at Royal Life Saving NSW.
Jodie’s transition from the corporate world to support work was a pivotal moment, driven by a profound desire to find deeper meaning and fulfillment in her career. Motivated by the challenges faced by her son in transitioning from school to work and inspired by the transformative impact of SLES (School Leaver Employment Supports), Jodie’s gratitude became a catalyst for change.
Thus, ‘Your Purpose’ was born, a platform aimed at bridging the gap between education and meaningful employment for young adults with disabilities. Empowering them to not only secure fulfilling employment but also embark on a journey of self-discovery towards a rewarding and satisfying life.
Despite initial setbacks, Jodie’s dedication and resilience led her son, Matt, to secure meaningful employment, pursue accredited training, and currently negotiating a traineeship, epitomising the success ‘Your Purpose’ seeks to foster.
OTHER PASSIONS
Beyond her professional endeavours, Jodie is passionate about creating micro-enterprises and exploring natural therapies.
As Jodie continues her professional journey, she is excited about the exploration and development of opportunities for her participants. With passion, dedication, and a deep sense of purpose, Jodie looks forward to making a positive impact in the lives of those she supports.
